What's the Difference Between Coaching and Therapy?

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

As you complete 2021 and begin reflecting on the past year, think about what you learned - the big and little lessons - and what you want to conquer in 2022. Visioning overcoming something that has held you back or brought strife to your life is not only motivating, it's acknowledging part of our soul's journey and its quest to actualize past old habits and hurts.

There are so many resources on the interwebs, here at Collective Gain to help you on your journey and through your medical insurance, we thought it'd be helpful to share insight on when it's best to hire a coach vs. a therapist. Both types of support are valid, powerful, and important, but determining which support you need can be confusing.

I get the question, "what is the difference between therapy and coaching?" a lot. And there is a big difference. I recorded this conversation with 2 Collective Gain coaches who have therapy backgrounds to help explain the difference between therapy and coaching, the benefits of both, and how to identify which support is right for you. I hope you find this conversation helpful.
